2017 was an interesting year for real estate sales in Harrisonburg and Rockingham county. If you have been paying attention to my market reports, there has been a major theme throughout the year: plenty of demand and not enough supply. This meant that houses sold quickly and for more money. This likely also played a large role in having less overall sales in 2017.
If enough people decide to sell their homes in 2018, we could have a very strong market. This could happen as many of the people who bought at the peak of the bubble will be able to sell their house without losing money.
