Collicello North is a new residential neighborhood in development in Harrisonburg, Virginia… built on Collicello Street, minutes from downtown, EMU, local restaurants, parks, and the city’s major employers.

A thirteen-year vision finally moving forward

The original master plan for this neighborhood dates to 2013… a vision by the late Dean Weaver, an EMU alum, to recreate the feel of an old, traditional, connected neighborhood. Smaller homes. Connected streets. A mix of housing types. Emphasis on community over lot size.

This spring, Harrisonburg City Council unanimously approved updated plans, clearing the way toward construction after more than a decade. Street, water, and sewer infrastructure is approximately ninety percent complete.

Propst Family Development is the builder bringing this forward.

Why location is the story

New construction this close to in-town Harrisonburg is rare. Most new homes around here are being built out in the county, with a few more on the edges of the city… Collicello North is the opposite. Downtown shops and restaurants are about 0.8 miles away, EMU about 0.9, and three city parks sit within two miles. Major employers are a short drive. JMU and Sentara RMH are nearby.

If you have been waiting for a new home this close to downtown, this is the one to watch.
